Makoto Sato,Energy and Environmental Science, Graduate School of Engineerig,
graduated on March 2003Mission：Contribution for student education and personality development through producing Formula car by themselves．
I had been thrilled by Formula SAE during my staying at University of Washington. Coming back to Japan, I have made up my mind to fabricate formula car with students. This Formula SAE project has been proposed originally by The Socity of Automotive Engineers in U.S.A as one of educational systems. On the other hand, The Japan Socity of Automotive Engineers has also paied special attention to Formula-SAE because JSAE has recognized educational contributions of it. So, We have begun to make formula car supprorted by JSAE. Carrying out this project, we have been helped by a large number of company and HONDA meister club so that we deeply have appreciated for much kindness and voluntary assistants. Thank you very much!

The team is composed of Utsunomiya University (Team leader and Frame design), Keio Uuniversity (Suspension design), Meisei University (Exhaust desigh) and Musashi Institute of Technology (Engine design). Formula car has been made up by themselves.
Makoto Sato, who was postgraduate student, had gotton a reward for contribution to jonted team from JSAE. As a fuculty adviser, I will give you my blessing from bottom of my heart. Congratulation! Award ceremony has been carried out on 1st March, 2003 at Muashi Inst. Tech. On top of that, he have received Award from Utsunomiya University on 19th March, 2003.

Test Running (2002)
Date：18th, 19th, March, 2002
Place：Twin Ring MOTEGI, South Course(18th），North Short Course（19th）
Result：On the first day, we got involved in clutch trouble but we took steps to change the other engine. On the second day, our car has run the whole distance without trouble.

Result：Connecting rod bwtwee steering gear and wheel had been distorted in braking test. However, car has run without trouble after fixeing connecting rod.
